Each year, hundreds of families come to watch this holiday classic featuring beautiful music by the great composer Tchaikovsky. Each child enrolled in ballet at the studio has the opportunity to be a part of this great production!

The Magic of the Nutcracker!
The Nutcracker ballet at Seymour Dance has been running for over 20 years. Each year, hundreds of families come to watch this holiday classic featuring beautiful music by the great composer Tchaikovsky. Each child enrolled in ballet at the studio has the opportunity to be a part of this great production!
Your dancer gets to engage in the very important work of character development and self expression, all while sharing the stage with older dancers who mentor and take dancers under their wing. Working on a theatrical Ballet Production engages dancers physically and mentally, and the thrill of performing for family, friends, schools, and community make it all the more meaningful!
Your dancer receives priceless performance experience where they get to wear fun costumes, in-costume photographs, and a video for family keepsakes (makes a wonderful gift too!). There's also an opportunity for parents to volunteer! Many of our dance families say it wouldn't be the holidays without the Nutcracker - and we couldn't agree more!
Nutcracker Information 2023
You’re invited to participate!
Seymour Dance has been performing Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”, a traditional holiday Ballet, for over 25 years! It has become a staple in our dance family and community! Our annual performance features beautiful classical music and bright, colourful costumes.
Participation in the Nutcracker is an OPTIONAL opportunity with additional rehearsals and supplemental fees. Rehearsals begin in September and the performances are in December. Rehearsals are on Sundays, and are not during your weekly Ballet class time.
Who Can Participate?

All dancers who are enrolled in our Ballet Program

Dancers in Ballet Grade 2 or higher must be enrolled in 2 Ballet classes per week to participate

3&4 Year Old, Pre-Primary, Primary, Grade 1 must be enrolled in at least 1 Ballet class per week

Dancers in Ballet Grade 6 and up can audition for leading and corps roles
Rehearsals and Commitment:

participating in “The Nutcracker” is a full commitment; we only have a limited amount of rehearsals to put the entire production together. Please commit to attending all rehearsals.

Cost To Participate:
Grade 1 Ballet and Up - $225 + tax first child, $200 + tax additional sibling
This package fee includes:

Cost of 8 regular rehearsals, staffing and choreography

Costume rental, cleaning, maintenance

Professional photo of your dancer in costume

Fee will be charged Sunday, October 1st, 2023
